Brokoff was only 23 years old when he was offered the privilege of carving the statues on Charles Bridge; they subsequently became his most famous works. Figuring among his most popular sculptures are the Trinity on Charles Bridge and the so-called Turk (a sculpture of St. John of Matha, St. Felix of Valois and
St. Ivan.) The artist also left his own portrait on the sculpture depicting St. Francis Xavier. His other Prague works include the statue of St. John the Baptist with Angels on Maltézské Square (1715), the Marian Plague Column on Castle Square (1724-26), the Clementinum and the Church of Saints Simon and Jude.
