At the side door to the church of Saint Charles a human head made of iron can be found poking out of the grate. The legend tells us that one church clerk used this spot to fornicate with his lover by night thus dishonoring the sanctity of the church. God punished him for his
transgression and turned him into an iron statue. His head was put above the door to keep guard. His ghost was to walk around the church every night between eleven o’clock and one in the morning mourning grievously in order to chase any young woman away from the church.
