The Czech Republic is a member of the EU, the NATO, the UNO and of many other international organizations.
The Czech Republic is a fully democratic country. The system in place is composed of two elected assemblies: the Chamber of deputies and the Senate. The president is elected indirectly for a five year term and his powers are mainly ceremonial,
he acts as a figurehead. The country uses a multi-party system, the government is led by a prime minister nominated by the president and usually tends to be the head of the party that won the elections. The Chamber of deputies then expresses its trust to the newly constituted government through a vote. The term of a government is of four years.
