The Czech Republic is a continental country, which lies in the mid-latitudes of the northern hemisphere. The Czech climate can be defined as temperate, while still very diverse all along the year and according to the location. The climate changes according to the regions, the main reason for
these differences being the altitude. The higher you go, the colder and wetter it gets. The climate in the Czech Republic is similar to that in the rest of the northern temperate zone with a cold winter at the beginning of the year, followed by spring, a hot summer and often a cold fall.
