Zavish of Falkenstein
He was the most powerful Czech nobleman in the late 13th century, husband to the widowed queen and regent of the country during the childhood of King Wenceslas II.
He was the second son of Budivoy of Skalitz, one of the most powerful South Bohemian nobleman of
the Witigonen dynasty. He grew up under the great “iron and golden” shadow of King Premyslid Ottokar II. He participated as a young squire to the Premyslid expeditions and was trained by one of the most famous kings of knights and breakers of jousting lances.
