Peter Vok
He was the last male member of the powerful Rosenberg dynasty, the significance of which was further accentuated by the interest shown by the revivalists, for example Frantisek Palacky. He was also renowned for his interest and support for science, literature and art.
He had to deal with his younger brother’s
inferiority complex, but his talent manifested in his docility and his strong interest for art. He was a good-hearted landlord who was respected by his vassals; he also doled out daily to the poor, which was extremely rare among the nobles. He died childless, hence ending the famous House of Rosenberg.
