Josef Chochol
He was a pioneer in Cubist architecture. One of his greatest achievements is the set of Cubist villas and apartment buildings below Vysehrad in Prague, built between 1912 and 1914. Chochol’s architectural style was distinguished by its dynamism, its generosity
of forms and its lack of ornamentation. During the inter-war period, Chochol’s style evolved to an original form of Purism and Functionalism. He also designed Cubist furniture and the pieces he created are considered as some of the best examples of this style.
