He belonged to the first generation of Prague architects, who built edifices in the Viennese Secession spirit in the Czech city. One of his greatest works is the apartment flat with a roof studio at the end of the Celetna
street near the Powder Tower, completed in 1900. Between 1905 and 1913 he designed countless noteworthy late Secession buildings in the Old Town, in Josefov, but also in the Vinohrady and the Holesovice Districts.
