Holy Heart of the Lord church
* *This modern church was built between 1928 and 1932 by Josip Plečnik, a castle architect. Plečnik, then master of his trade, charged the city nothing for this structure. As well as building the church, he redesigned the whole square. Unfortunately, he ran into financial problems and only the church was completed after a dozen years and the plans to renovate the park were never
realized. Today, there are still heated discussions concerning the subject as, for example, this square does not even have one passageway.
The church tower has a 42-metre belfry in the shape of a prism with a circular 7.6 metres window. The entrance front has three portals. The structure is based on Old-Christian churches from the times immediately after Jesus Christ.
