The picturesque Hradčanské Square was built in the 14th century, when the municipality of Hradčany became a liege town. Currently the Hradčany is one of Prague districts. In the beginnings, wealthy people had their residence built on the square,
the castle nearby possibly being a plus. Later on, aristocrats did the same. In 1598, the Hradčany was promoted to royal town by Emperor Rudolf. On the square, you will find a number of outstanding historical buildings, still well preserved.
