Velkopřevorský Mill
The Renaissance mill driven by a big wooden wheel immersed into Čertovka was built between 1597 and 1600 under the reign of Rudolf the Second. However, a mill had been standing at the same place since medieval times. The name "Velkopřevorský" refers to the owners of the mill – the Order of Maltese Knights, the commendam of which was situated close by. Nonetheless, there was
serious disagreement concerning the ownership of the mill between the Order of Maltese Knights and the village. This lasted for more than a hundred years. For instance in 1629, things got out of hands as the inhabitants of the Lesser Town took the building of the mill by force. The disagreement was definitely solved in 1795, when the Order of Maltese Knights sold the mill.
