This Baroque manor was built between 1679 and 1685 by Count Václav Vojtěch of Šternberk as his summer residence. The author of the project was Burgundy architect Jean Baptist Mathey, who was inspired by a Roman suburban villa he had seen during his visit in Italy. The main hall vaulted through the two floors is decorated with a ceiling fresco, the work of Italian painters Abraham Godyn and Isaac Godyn. The fresco is the glorification of the victory of the Habsburg Monarchy over the Turks near Vienna.
From the hall, branches out a monumental staircase decorated with Baroque sculptures by Georg Hermann and Paul Hermann representing the Battle of Titans with the Antique Gods. In 1685, a French style garden was designed. Maria Tereza bought the manor from the Šternberk family for the institution of noblewomen and she herself stayed here several times.
Today the manor houses a permanent exhibition called Czech Art in the 19th Century, which is part of the collections of the National Gallery in Prague.
