The hotel built between 1952 and 1954 following architect František Jeřábek´project represents the purest exemple of Social Realism architecture in Prague. This prescriptive creative-art style was powerfully advocated by
Communist ideologists. The style started to heavily influence Czechoslovak culture after the Communist revolution in 1948. The red star situated on the top of the building weighs 250 kilograms and measures 1.5 meters.
