The Classicism building of the first train station was completed in 1845 and was the end station of the first Bohemian railroad, connecting Prague to Moravian Olomouc. The construction was initiated by Emperor Ferdinand the Fifth. The first train arrived ceremonially to the station on August
20th 1845. Today fortunately, the train station has been preserved in its almost original state, two perpendicular wings are connected by a glazed hall with a cast-iron structure. The facade of the train station is dominated by a pair of square towers with Empire windows and a clock.
