Church of St. Haštal
The church of St. Haštal, which stands in the center of a square bearing the same name, is one of the oldest and most magnificent Gothic churches in Prague. The new Gothic building replaced an older Romanesque chapel around the middle of the 14th century. The church, which was damaged during
the Hussite uprisings, was in the hands of the Utraquists until 1624. After the Battle of the White Mountain, the church was handed over to the Catholic Church. After the fire at the end of the 17th century, the church received the Baroque treatment from architect Pavel Ignác Bayer.
