Church of the Virgin Mary Andělská
The church of the Virgin Mary Andělská is part of the complex of buildings of the former Capuchin monastery. It was built in 1600 as a plain single-nave edifice with a right-angled chancel on the premises of the former Lobkowicz Garden. Furnishing of the Capuchin-type church is a straightforward Baroque style from the middle of the 17th century. In 1757, the church was damaged
by Prussian cannonade during the siege of Prague. This event left its mark in the shape of cannon balls immured into the outer wall of the church. During the Advent, the Capuchin monastery and the church have a unique crib inside from the end of the 18th century. It features 43 life-size characters made by now forgotten members of the order who worked for 10 years.
